Praying Mantis walks to the beat of his own drum. Rocking dancefloors from New York to London to Amsterdam since 2002, he has been blessed with the honor of playing along side such names as Storm, Equinox, Remarc, DJ Craze, Double O and Mantra, Liondub, Marcus Visionary, Simon "Bassline" Smith, Odi, Reid Speed, Dara, Sabre, Shortee and many others. A student of Drum and Bass, he has learned to perfect a unique blend of techno, reggae, house, hip hop, and classical oriented sounds into a style he likes to call "Northern Mantis Boxing." In 2007, Praying Mantis officially certified Bass Camp Recordings as a audio recording and mastering business of providing an avenue for others to showcase their unique talents. In the summer of 2008 he was asked by Tom Amaning owner of BIOS Recordings, (DE) to perform their annual summer mix. After much fan fair, we was requested to follow up his well received mix the following year. Over the past 3 years, Bass Camp Recordings has grown to include not only musical works for dance floors, but also video for film and live musical recordings. Currently he is working on audio works and mastering from all areas including releases from several independent hip hop artists, Government officials, the (Great) City of New York, Minicast LTD and Whitaker Films, LLC. Not bad for a former trombone and oboe player who couldnt play the drums...
